Our Annual Dinner has been run very successfully for many years by Sedge, Elaine and Alan Milward. They are one very difficult act to follow so with this in mind we decided on a complete change of format. On Saturday 23rd September we will be having our End of Season Dinner and Players Presentation Evening at Bishop’s Stortford Golf Club.

We, as a Club, have much to celebrate and at the point of writing this we have already had 15 senior league 100’s and 9 five wicket hauls this season.

We are delighted that Andre Nel has agreed to be our guest speaker and we have a new Master of Ceremonies for the evening who I’m sure will keep us entertained. Andre Nel, an enthusiastic fast bowler, played for South Africa between 2001 and 2008 and dismissed Brian Lara on 8 occasions. He played for Northamptonshire, Essex and Surrey and also Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

We are limited to numbers so we would appreciate early confirmation of your attendance. We are aware of the current financial position for many so we have managed to cap the cost of the Dinner to £39.50 this year down from £45 in 2022 with tables seating a maximum of 10 people, priced at £395.

The Dinner will comprise a three-course meal, preceded by a sparkling wine reception, generously sponsored by Chairman Peter Burslem and Secretary Jen Lindop. There is a licensed, pay bar which will close at 11.30pm and the event will finish at midnight. The dress code for the Dinner is smart.

Please secure your table/place, with payment by latest Sunday 20th August and applications will come on a first come first served basis, subject to availability. Please reply to me directly by email or telephone by the closing date.

On receipt of your request and payment, we will send the menu choices being offered and these need to be completed and returned to me no later than: Friday 1st September.
