David Hardcastle1 Jul 2020 - 13:11

Great news – after over 3 months of lockdown, the BSST bar is reopened on Monday 6th July

In order to comply with government guidelines, there is a “new normal” that we all need to adjust to.

Details and guidelines from BSST

Our opening hours will be Mon-Fri 4pm to 10pm, Sat & Sun 12pm to 10pm.

In order to comply with government guidelines, there is a “new normal” that we all need to adjust to. There is an online FAQ which contains full details and signs will explain everything when you arrive at the club, but in summary:

  • The club will be open to current members only. No new social memberships are being accepted at the moment.
  • All payments must be made using your privilege card – and you still get a 10% discount on all purchases.
  • This allows us to comply with the governments “track and trace” policy without needing to collect names and addresses of all customers.
  • Cards can be topped up using debit or credit card up to £45 a time so that all transactions can be contactless
  • Club members who haven’t got a privilege card but would like one should email enquiries@bssportstrust.co.uk. You will be asked to put £20 on your card at the time of application
  • There will be no access to the clubhouse (except to use the toilets, see below). All drinks will be consumed outside.
  • Orders will be taken at one set of double doors and collected at the other set.
  • There will be no smoking or drinking in any of the queues. The benches on our terrace area will also be non-smoking.
  • All the tables and benches will have social distancing markers around them and they MUST NOT be moved.
  • There will also be marked out areas on the grass to use, once these are all filled this is our current maximum capacity. The cricket boundary rope will be in place and we urge you not to sit inside that area.
  • Please keep all dogs on a lead.
  • Children are welcome but they must also observe government social distancing rules.
  • Only alcohol bought from our clubhouse bar can be consumed on the grounds. This is a condition of our license and it is against the law to bring your own drinks.
  • Toilets will operate on a “one-in / one-out” basis with hand sanitisers available to use both before you go in and before you come out of the toilet. There will be marked walkways to assist with queuing.

Please read the online FAQ which contains detailed advice and will be kept up to date.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the club once more – see you soon!
